The U.S. Postal Service has launched a pilot program in 1,500 post offices throughout the country that will allow customers to recycle small electronics and printer cartridges by mailing them for free. Ottawa, Ill.-based Clover Technologies Group, which remanufactures and remarkets inkjet cartridges, laser cartridges and small electronics, will pay for the postage. If an item cannot be reused or refurbished, its parts will be used for other items or further broken down to be recycled.
