Jeffco Landfill, a Republic Services-owned facility near St. Louis, is using an innovative and environmentally friendly approach to leachate treatment that employs phytoremediation. Literally a “green” technology, phytoremediation harnesses the unique ability of specially selected plants to treat contaminated material.
