The City of Charlotte (NC) is seeking an executive leader to serve as Solid Waste Services Director. Duties will include formulating/supervising administration of Solid Waste Services’ programs, and directing the department’s core business of providing residential full-service collection of garbage, recycling, yard waste, and bulky items under a Managed Competition and Optimization Business Model. This highly visible position requires an individual with excellent leadership and strategic planning skills; demonstrated interpersonal and public communication skills; significant experience and knowledge of large and complex organizational operations (public sector experience a plus).
